AFC has 18 families total: 9 in our emergency shelter and 9 in our Family Transformation Center. We prefer that holiday donors pick a specific item (part of the meal, or one of the bullet points), but sponsorship of a specific family is possible as well.
THANK YOU for your incredible support of our families during this truly magical time of year!
AFC will be hosting our Volunteer Training & Meeting for all volunteers on January 16th from 3PM-4:30PM at AFC's Emergency Shelter. Come and learn about AFC's volunteer opportunities and learn about AFC's clients and their unique needs.

Here are some highlights of this beautiful playhouse:
- Space is designed to be a mini-habitat, suitable either for a kids clubhouse or an adult’s creative space. Part of our inspiration was thinking about affordable housing and small living spaces, though sadly no plumbing in the playhouse

The Anacortes Family Center is very excited to share that the Anacortes City Council has approved a code overlay that will pave the way for the Anacortes Family Center's new 20-apartment affordable housing project. AFC hopes to break ground on the $2,000,000 building this summer. The apartments will be for families making less than 50% of the area median income (a family of four with an income of less than $33,000 annually). The project not only completes the need for a continuum of care, addresses the desperate need for affordable housing in Anacortes, but the project will also financially support AFC's emergency shelter and Family Transformation Center. The income generated from rent will go directly toward our life-changing services in those two programs.
Burton Jewelers, a fixture of the Anacortes business community for generations, recently held a private gemstone event for a select group of customers – one with a very special twist. Burton Jewelers donated 100% of the admission fee from the event to the Anacortes Family Center, to support its mission to serve homeless women, children and families in Anacortes, helping them to achieve self-sufficiency and success.
“It is such an honor to have the generous support of Doug, Phil and Holly and their customers. AFC relies exclusively on the support of our local community, so not only do events like theirs provide much-needed financial support, but it also gives us the chance to share the important work we’re doing.”
Since 1930 Burton Jewelers has been a leader in the Anacortes business community. The Anacortes Family Center has served nearly 850 individuals, mostly children, since its inception in 2009. Make sure to visit Burton Jewelers to get that one-of-a-kind Christmas gift, and don’t f...
