AFC Receives Green Light on Affordable Housing

The Anacortes Family Center is very excited to share that the Anacortes City Council has approved a code overlay that will pave the way for the Anacortes Family Center's new 20-apartment affordable housing project. AFC hopes to break ground on the $2,000,000 building this summer. The apartments will be for families making less than 50% of the area median income (a family of four with an income of less than $33,000 annually). The project not only completes the need for a continuum of care, addresses the desperate need for affordable housing in Anacortes, but the project will also financially support AFC's emergency shelter and Family Transformation Center. The income generated from rent will go directly toward our life-changing services in those two programs.
